NEST’s 4-week small-group summer therapy program in Longmont, Colorado, specially designed for neurodiverse learners! This program helps children and teens develop executive functioning skills, increase their self awareness, discover communication strategies and preferences, and build self-advocacy tools in a supportive, neuro-affirming environment.

Who Are We Looking For?
Students in 5th-12th grade who are:
Able to communicate their thoughts.
Independently safe in community settings.
Motivated to engage in small-group activities and connect with peers.
Who Will Be Providing Support?
This program is led by two experienced, neuro-affirming Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with extensive training in supporting neurodiverse learners.

What to Expect

Kick off with interactive games, self-assessments, and organizational mapping activities to introduce executive functioning. We'll set goals, discuss neurodiversity, and engage in fun, multi-step projects, fostering both individual and group growth. Families will connect through take-home activities to deepen understanding.

Explore the connection between language and emotional regulation through engaging lessons on emotions, body awareness, and fun activities like meme creation. We'll discuss tools and strategies for managing emotions and reflect on personal experiences. Families will receive take-home materials to reinforce emotional awareness at home.

Delve into neurodivergent communication through interactive surveys, discussions on empathy and masking, and fun activities like cookie decorating. We'll review past lessons, practice collaboration, and focus on realistic goals and family involvement. Families will engage in the planning process to support ongoing learning.

We'll tie together everything we've learned, focusing on self-advocacy and preparing for the final picnic. Activities include self-assessments, developing personal accommodations, and reflecting on personal growth. The week concludes with a celebratory picnic, where students share their learning journey with their families, showcasing their progress and achievements.
